The Sanford Saga in parts three |

How Jenny Found Out: A Chopped Liver Video Re-Enactment. June 29 2009: Jenny Sanford, First Lady of South Carolina and wife of randy rowdy raunchy Republican Mark Sanford, has told the devastating tale of how she learned of her husband's infidelities. And the instant I read the story, I knew I had to do a dramatic re-enactment. It's a public service because we were unable to be on the scene when the events unfolded, but now we can all feel like we were. You're welcome. Also, I'm very, very sorry. |

Along the Appalachian Trail. July 5 2009: Yep, we're still on Mark Sanford's case. But what can you expect? The chief executive of the great state of South Carolina disappears over the Father's Day weekend, and then he comes back and tells everybody he went for a simple hike all by himself on his favorite trail. It never crossed his mind that his service detail might be worried about him, and his wife certainly didn't seem concerned. Sometimes a guy just has to wander off by himself out in the woods for a while. But he really should try to come up with a better cover story. "Hiking the Appalachian Trail" has taken on a whole new meaning for today's married men.

'It All Began Very Innocently' July 12 2009: In our third -- and, we hope, final -- installment on the Mark Sanford story, we take a look at how innocently his torrid Argentinian affair began ... including breathless readings of poignant passages from the e-mails that flew between Sanford and his mistress. Buenos Aires is from "Evita." Most of the rest of the music in this video is from the "Fantasia" soundtrack; the main theme is, appropriately, Ave Maria. |
